Method of producing polyvinyl chloride
专利摘要:
A one-step process for the emulsion polymerization of vinyl chloride using a water-soluble initiator and an aqueous emulsifier system of (1) a C12-C18 straight chain alkyl or alkenyl phosphate surfactant and (2) a C12-C20 straight chain alkyl or alkenyl alcohol and/or a straight chain saturated hydrocarbon having a carbon content of greater than 18 is disclosed. One suitable example of a straight chain phosphate surfactant is sodium lauryl phosphate. Suitable alcohols include stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol and eicosanol. A suitable hydrocarbon is eicosane. The resulting homo- and copolymer latices can be used in plastisols and organosols.
(54) METHOD OF OBTAINING POLYVINYL CHLORIDE one This invention relates to a process for the manufacture of polyvinyl chloride and can be used in the chemical industry. A known method of producing polyvinyl chloride by water emulsion polymerization of vinyl chloride in the presence of a water-soluble radical initiator and fatty acid soaps, alkyl sulfates or alkyl sulfonates 1 as emulsifiers. The closest in technical essence to the present invention is a method of producing polyvinyl chloride by aqueous emulsion polymerization of vinyl chloride in the presence of a water-soluble radical initiator and sodium lauryl phosphate as an emulsifier 2. The disadvantage of this method is its multi-stage, as in the case of the use of this emulsifier, the stage of formation of the initial seed particles and one or several stages of growing the seed particles are required before the desired product is obtained. The purpose of the invention is to simplify the process technology. This goal is achieved by the fact that in the process of producing polyvinyl chloride by aqueous emulsion polymerization of vinyl chloride in the presence of a water-soluble radical initiator and sodium lauryl phosphate as an emulsifier, the process is carried out in the presence of a stearyl syrite as an additional emulsifier with its weight ratio with an εE equal to 0.5: 1: 2 - 2 - 2: 2: 2: 2: 2: 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2. and the total amount of the mixture of emulsifiers 0.5-1.2 wt.% to the monomer In addition, a mixture of emulsifiers before use is homogenized in an aqueous solution of alkali with heat. The process is carried out in one stage. As water-soluble initiators. Ammonium sulphate, sodium perborate, potassium persulphate, sodium persulphate and potassium percarbonate can be used, as well as redox-si-steM7J of potassium persulphate - ascorbic acid or potassium persulphate sodium metabisulphate. The amount of initiator or redox system used is 0.05–1% (preferably 0.075–0.1 wt.% To the monomer. During polymerization, it is reasonable to have a suitable buffer, for example, borax, in the reaction mass to maintain the reaction medium at a pH of 5–8 ( preferably 6-7.5), since this achieves a polydisperse distribution of the polymer particles. The polymerization process is carried out by heating the reaction mixture to 45 - for 3 5 hours. I Example 1. Preparation of a mixed emulsifier. / Lauric acid phosphate is used (3 g of such phosphate requires 4.5 g of 10% NaOH to establish a pH of 8.0) in order to obtain the sodium lauryl phosphate salt by mixing the following ingredients and heating them to 70 s, g: Deionized water 2520 Sodium hydroxide (97%) 23.3 Sodium lauryl phosphate 150 From the resulting solution, a series of stearyl alcohol (CC) sodium ori-1-phosphate (NLF) mixed with emulsifiers was prepared by introducing a solution in a ratio to NLF for use in following example. Example 2 A mixed sodium-lauryl phosphate (stearyl alcohol (NLF-SS) emulsifier in single-cycle polymerization of vinyl chloride is used. The reaction is carried out in bottles for 4 hours. Table 5 shows the reagents used and the results obtained.
